Meet Modupe, our CFO!

Y’ello!
I lead the amazing group of financial whizzes that handle financial operations, risk management, and performance management, ensuring that the business remains capable of delivering its promise to you.

I previously worked at worked Lafarge Africa PLC where I held various positions in the West African Portland Cement (WAPCO) PLC subsidiary including financial controller and business development manager. I trained and qualified as a chartered accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) spending 11 years.

I joined MTN Nigeria in 2007 as the General Manager, Financial Operations and held various positions within the finance division. In August 2014, I joined Scancom Plc as the Chief Financial Officer and was appointed Executive Director in April 2016, a position I held until 29 February 2020. Other directorships I hold include MTN Ghana (SCANCOM), MobileMoney Limited, and Hajj Mabrur Ventures Limited (Nigeria).

I have a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in economics and a Master’s of Science in management, both from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. I am a Fellow of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). I was part of MTN’s Global Advancement Programme (GAP) in 2012 and have attended various leadership programs at the Columbia Business School, INSEAD and IMD Business School where I am an alumnus of all three.

My goal is to help MTN make good financial decisions that ensure that the business keeps enhancing lives for many years to come.
