Chief Corporate Services Officer (CCSO)


I lead the team that manages the Legal, Regulatory, Corporate Affairs, CSR, and Sustainability functions in MTN Nigeria.

I am a certified dispute resolution professional accredited by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) UK, and a seasoned expert in Crisis Management, Crisis Communications, Stakeholder Management, Strategy Formulation, and Execution. My core competence is leading in a volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) environment.

I started my telecom career at Vmobile in 2005 as Manager, Legislative Affairs and was part of the transition culminating in Airtel Nigeria. I left Airtel as General Manager, Government and Environmental Affairs. I built the playbook and led the team responsible for interfacing with Government at all tiers and levels. I joined Smile Communications in 2015 as Chief Corporate Services Officer (CCSO), bringing the legal, communications and regulatory functions under my purview.

I joined MTN Nigeria from Smile Communications. In addition to my role as Chief Corporate Services Officer, MTNN, I am also the Chairman of the Board of Yello Digital Financial Services Ltd (YDFS) an MTNN agency banking subsidiary, and sit on the pioneer board of MoMo Payment Service Bank Ltd (MoMo PSB), MTNN’s fintech subsidiary.

I have an LLB from the University of Maiduguri, an MBA from the University of Liverpool and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1990.
