Mallam Surajuddeen Balarabe Yakubu is a Lawyer of more than 40Years experience in Corporate Law and Regulatory issues. He has in the last two decade been practicing Human Resource Management and Performance improvement.
He was at various times General Counsel New Nigeria Development Company Limited(NNDC), the defunct ICON Merchant Bank Limited and Union Bank Plc. He was also actively involved in the reforms of State owned Enterprises(SoE) and subsequent Commercialisation and Privitisation by the Technical Committee on Commercialization and Privitisation (TCPC) and its successor, the BPE as Advisor on Legal Reforms and member of various working Committees on implementation of the reforms.
Among the public positions he has held, he was in the late 1980’s to early 1990’s a Commissioner of Agriculture & Natural Resources Kaduna State. He served as the Chairman, Committee on Reform of Land use and Administration Kaduna State. He served as the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Nigerian Investment promotion Agency (NIPC), and also as member Secretary International Presidential Advisory Council on Investment(HPAC)
An alumni of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Oxford University and the International Development Lawyers Institute(IDLI). Mallam Yakubu is a fellow, Chartered Institute of Director, Fellow, Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria [BRIPAN], International Society for Performance Improvement, USA, Member, Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) Member, Society for Human Resource Management, USA and life member International Federation of Training and Development (IFTDO).
He holds the traditional title of the SANTURAKI BABBA of the Zazzau Emirate, Kaduna State.
