MTN FlyX
What is MTN FlyX?
A. MTN FlyX is MTN’s outdoor fixed broadband solution designed to deliver fast, stable, and reliable internet connectivity to homes and small businesses.
The service uses an Outdoor Unit (ODU) professionally installed outside the customer’s premises to capture the strongest available MTN network signal and provide high-quality indoor Wi-Fi coverage
FlyX Acquisition Offer: Unlimited Data (up to 100Mbps) at N30,000. This comes with FREE-to-use Router (with power bank) and FREE installation.
To Order: Visit flyx.mtn.ng or authorised MTN Store.
How does FlyX work?
A. An MTN-certified installer installs the outdoor unit at the best location outside your premises to receive the strongest MTN network signal. The outdoor unit is designed to withstand normal outdoor weather conditions when installed according to MTN specifications.
The outdoor unit is connected to an indoor unit, enabling multiple devices to access the internet seamlessly.
Is FlyX truly unlimited?
A. Yes. FlyX plans include unlimited data access with no Fair Usage Policy (FUP), enabling customers to stream, browse, work, learn and game without worrying about data caps.
What subscription plans are available for renewal?
A. FlyX offers two (2) data bundle plans:
- Up to 50 Mbps (30 days)- N30,000
- Up to 100 Mbps (30 days)- N45,000
Plan availability may be updated periodically by MTN.
What do I get when I subscribe to FlyX?
A. Subscribers receive: FREE-to-use Outdoor/Indoor Unit, Professional Installation & Power Bank
How do I renew my subscription?
A. You can renew your FlyX bundle through MyMTN App, eShop (shop.mtn.ng), USSD (*461#) and any authorised MTN Store
Is FlyX the same as FibreX?
A. No. FlyX uses MTN’s 5G network through an Outdoor Unit (ODU), while FibreX uses fibre-optic cables. Both provide high-speed home internet, but through different technologies. FlyX is a great alternative where FibreX is not available
Do I need to register my SIM before using FlyX?
A. Yes. FlyX comes with an embedded eSIM which must be properly registered in line with NCC requirements before activation of the 5G ODU
What is an eSIM?
A. An eSIM (Embedded SIM) is a digital SIM built directly into the 5G Outdoor Unit. Unlike a physical SIM card, it is preconfigured and does not need to be inserted, removed, or replaced. The eSIM helps simplify activation and service management.
Why should I choose FlyX?
Because the outdoor unit is mounted outside the building where signal strength is strongest, FlyX typically delivers: better signal quality, more stable connectivity, improved performance and consistent internet experience across multiple devices
This makes it ideal for locations where indoor coverage may be weaker.
Can I use FlyX if Fibre is not available in my area?
A. Yes. FlyX is specifically designed to provide a Fibre-like broadband experience in areas where Fibre services are unavailable, subject to MTN network coverage.
Is FlyX portable/moveable?
A. No. FlyX is a fixed broadband service and is installed at a specific address. It is not designed to be moved from one location to another.
Customers intending to relocate should contact MTN Broadband Customer Support for guidance on service relocation.
Can I install FlyX myself?
A. No. MTN recommends installation by certified installers to ensure optimal signal strength, performance, and service quality.
How long does installation take?
A. Installation is typically completed within the scheduled date after order confirmation. An assigned MTN installer will contact the customer to re-confirm installation schedule.
How do I know if FlyX is available in my area?
A. Availability depends on MTN network coverage. You can check your 5G coverage on- https://external.mtnncoveragelocator.com/
What should I do if I experience poor performance?
A. You should:
- Restart the router.
- Verify all cables are securely connected.
- Ensure the power supply is stable.
- Contact MTN Broadband Customer Support if the issue persists.
Can I change my Wi-Fi name or password?
A. Yes. Visit 192.168.0.1 or https://mtn.broadband.ng when connected to the MiFi.
Use ‘admin’ as password. Go to Wi-Fi settings to change your password
