Through empowering communities, driving social impact, and improving access to education, healthcare, skills funding, and community infrastructure, the foundation has played a vital role in enhancing quality of life across Nigeria.

He said, “Today, we celebrate the MTN Foundation’s decades of remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s social and economic development. Through empowering communities, driving social impact, and improving access to education, healthcare, skills funding, and community infrastructure, the foundation has played a vital role in enhancing quality of life across Nigeria.
She added that the UN is ready to support the MTN Foundation and other private sector partners to amplify their collective impact.
“We can accelerate action on the SDGs, foster innovation, and address systemic barriers to development.
“Through these partnerships, we can advance green and digital transitions in a way that leaves no one behind, ensuring that progress reaches all communities,” she said.
Also speaking, the Executive Director of MTN Nigeria Foundation, Odunayo Sanya, said that the foundation is repositioned for the next 20 years with the unveiling of a new identity, purpose, vision, mission, and logo.
Discussing the challenges faced by the foundation, Sanya noted that one of the greatest challenges has been limited resources.
She expressed gratitude to MTN Nigeria and its customers for providing the funds to sustain the foundation’s efforts.
“We are grateful to MTN Nigeria and our customers because they keep us here. It is based on our customers’ patronage that MTN can fund the foundation.”
“We have repositioned today with the unveiling of our new identity, our purpose, our vision, our mission, and our logo.”
“We are now prepared for the next 20 years, building an MTN Foundation that is future-fit and committed to greater impact within our communities and to helping build our nation, Nigeria.”
“Part of our mission is to forge collaborations and partnerships so that we can scale up impact across Nigeria. That is the plan,” she said.
Sanya further outlined the foundation’s mission moving forward, which encapsulates its commitment to holistic socio-economic development:
“Our mission is to consistently enhance the well-being of our communities by fostering investments through collaborations and partnerships in capacity building, health, and economic empowerment.”
The highlight of the event was the unveiling of a new logo, vision, mission statement, and the Y’ello Impact Report, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to sustainable development.
