MTN Foundation was established in 2004 to serve as the Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives for MTN Nigeria Communications PLC; one of the first corporates in Nigeria to launch such an initiative. It was formally commissioned in May 2005 with MTN Nigeria Communication PLC committing up to 1% of its Profit after Tax (PAT) annually as its main source of funding for projects.

Since its inception, the MTN Foundation has invested over NGN 34.4 billion in impactful projects across all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).  MTN Foundation has over 1,093 project sites across Nigeria with 54 unique projects that span across 3,610 communities and reached over 32,283,232 people.

Through its strategic interventions, the Foundation remains committed to improving lives, empowering communities, and driving sustainable development across Nigeria.

Our Portfolios

The Youth Development portfolio focuses on Initiatives that provide the youth, as the largest and most impacted population group with skills, tools, access, knowledge, and opportunities to become economically active citizens.

The National Priority portfolio focuses on Initiatives that support community infrastructure development, and health-related initiatives that support women and children, aligning with the Government National Development plan and contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
