To activate MTN YafunYafun, simply do the following:

  • Buy a new SIM, register and activate it and then select MTN YafunYafun tariff plan from the USSD Menu that will be displayed.
  • However, if you fail to choose a tariff plan, you will be activated on the YafunYafun plan by default.

A. To be on MTN YafunYafun do the following:

    • Simply buy a new SIM, register and activate it and then select MTN YafunYafun tariff plan from the USSD Menu that will be displayed.
    • However, if you fail to choose a tariff plan, you will be migrated to YafunYafun plan by default.

Q. How do I receive the 700% bonus on recharge?

A. Just recharge by dialling *555*the recharge PIN#. After recharging, you will receive 700% bonus on that recharge. However, 400% of the bonus will be used for Voice calls ONLY to all networks in Nigeria and the 300% will be used for Data activities.


Q. Apart from the 700% bonus on recharge, what else will I get?

A. You will enjoy the following;

    • N1000 SIM Activation bonus (N800 for voice calls & SMS & N200 for ALL data activities)
    • 100% Data Bonus on SELECT data bundle activations and data bundle auto-renewals.

Q. For how long will I enjoy the 700% bonus on recharge and 100% Data Bonus?

A. You will be able to enjoy the 100% Data Bonus for 3 months ONLY while you will enjoy the 700% bonus on ALL your recharges for 6 months.

NOTE: The 3 months validity on 100% Data Bonus starts counting as soon as the customer is on MTN YafunYafun plan.


Q. I just made 10 minutes call with sufficient airtime in my main account and YafunYafun bonus account, but I noticed that my 1st and 5th minute calls were charged from my main account instead of my bonus account. Is this correct?

A. Yes, your first 1st and 5th minute call in a day will now be charged from your main account, after which subsequent charges will occur from your YafunYafun bonus account or other bonus accounts

After the 1st and 5th minute national call has been charged from your main account, subsequent calls after 1st and 5th minute calls respectively, SMS or data activities will then be charged from your N1000 SIM Activation bonus account (N800 for voice calls & SMS & N200 for data activities) before charging your 700% YafunYafun bonus or any other bonus.


Q. Will my 1st and 5th minute call be charged from main account every day?

A. Yes, your 1st and 5th minute call will be charged from your main account on a daily basis. The charging counter will reset by 11:59PM mid-night and start again counting from 12:00am.


Q. What happens if the airtime in my main account is less than 1 minute?

A. If the airtime in your main account is less than 1 minute, the available airtime in your main account will be used for calls after which subsequent charges will be taken from your N1000 SIM Activation bonus account or other bonus accounts.

Example

If you have N20 in your main account and N400 in SIM Activation bonus account, call charges will begin from the N20 and once exhausted, charges will continue from the SIM Activation bonus account.

However, if you recharge before your 5th minute call, then your 5th minute call will be charged from main account after which subsequent calls will be charged from YafunYafun bonus account or other bonus accounts.


Q. I am trying to make my first call of the day I have N0 airtime in my main account and N200 in my YafunYafun account, but I am unable to make a call. Why?

A. This is because your first call of the day must be made from your main account before your bonus account.


Q. How much will I be charged for my 1st and 5th minute call of the day?

A. For your 1st and 5th minute call, you will be charged 36k/sec (₦21.60k/min) from your main account; after which subsequent charges will occur from your YafunYafun bonus account or other bonus accounts.


Q. How will I get the N1000 SIM Activation bonus?

A. After you register and activate your new line, you will receive a message confirming you have received the N1000 SIM Activation bonus.


Q. What activities can I perform with the N1000 SIM Activation bonus?

A. You will receive the N1000 SIM Activation bonus in the following ways:

    • N800 for National Voice calls & SMS.
    • N200 for ALL data activities.

Q. When will I be able to use the N1000 SIM Activation bonus?

A. You will be able to use the N1000 SIM Activation bonus once you perform chargeable activity from your main account (Calls, SMS, data activities SMS, bundle activation etc.)


Q. How long will I be able to use the N1000 SIM Activation bonus?

A. The N1000 SIM Activation bonus will be valid for 7 days from the date of SIM activation BUT unused bonus will be cleared after 7days.


Q. If I recharge and get my YafunYafun 700% recharge bonus will I continue to use the N1000 SIM Activation bonus?

A. Yes, you will continue to use the N1000 SIM Activation bonus until it is exhausted. However, subsequent charges will be taken from your 700% YafunYafun bonus.


Q. How many times can I get the N1000 SIM Activation bonus?

A. You will receive the N1000 SIM Activation bonus ONCE.


Q. If I migrate to another tariff plan with my N1000 SIM Activation bonus, will I still be able to use it?

A. Yes, you will still be able to use the N1000 SIM Activation bonus when you migrate to another tariff plan so long as the bonus has not expired. However, you will not be able to use the SIM Activation if you migrate to XtraSpecial plan or XtraValue plan.

Q. What happens to my number after 6 months?

A. After the sixth month, you will stop enjoying the 700% bonus on ALL recharges AND the system will automatically migrate you to MTN BetaTalk tariff plan where you continue to enjoy exciting bonuses.


Q. Will I be notified that my line will be migrated out of YafunYafun plan after 6 months?

A. Yes, you will receive notifications that your line will be migrated to Betatalk tariff plan, 10 days and 5 days before migration. You will also receive a notification on the day the line is migrated to Betatalk.


Q. Will I continue to enjoy the 100% Data bonus if I migrate out of the YafunYafun plan before the third month?

A. Yes. If you migrate out of YafunYafun within the first 3 months, you will continue to enjoy the 100% Data bonus until the end of the third month.


Q. If I activate a data bundle 2 months after activating my line on YafunYafun, will I enjoy the 100% bonus on Data activation for the next 3 months?

A. No, your 3 months starts counting from the day your number was activated.


Q. What can I use the YafunYafun 700% airtime bonus for?

A. You will be able to use 400% YafunYafun airtime bonus for calls ONLY, to ALL Local Networks in Nigeria and the 300% bonus for data activities.


Q. Will I be able to enjoy 100% Data bonus on auto-renewals?

A. Yes, you will enjoy 100% data bonus when you renew SELECT data bundle subscription.


Q. What is the validity of the YafunYafun airtime bonus?

A. The airtime bonus is valid for 7 days after which all unused bonus will clear. If you recharge again before your bonus expires, you will receive another bonus but all bonus received will expire separately on their respective day of expiry.


Q. What is the validity of the data bonus?

A. The 100% Data bonus will have the same validity with the main data bundle activated.


Q. How do I check my SIM Activation bonus & YafunYafun airtime and data bonus balance?

A. To check your balance simply do the following:

700% YafunYafun Bonus

    • Dial *556# to check your main account and total airtime bonus.
    • Dial *559*43#* to view details of the bonus (total bonus, earliest bonus to expire and expiry date)
    • Dial *131*4# OR Send 2 to 131 to check your data bundle and data bonus.

Q. What should I do to get the 10% airtime bonus on recharge?

A. To get the 10% airtime Bonus on recharge, simply recharge via the following recharge channels:

      • Debit Card option
    • myMTN NG App
      • Bank Account option

Q. Will I also get my YafunYafun bonus plus 10% airtime bonus when I recharge via *904# or myMTN NG App?

A. Yes. Once you recharge via *904# and myMTN NG App, you will get the following bonuses:

    • 10% airtime bonus
    • 700% YafunYafun bonus

Example: When you recharge with N200 via *904# or myMTN NG App, you will get total of N1420.

N1,400 will be credited into your airtime and data accounts respectively i.e. N800 into your YafunYafun airtime account and N600 in your YafunYafun data account while N20 will be credited into your 10% airtime bonus account.


Q. How long will I be able to use the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge?

A. The 10% Airtime bonus on recharge will be valid for 7 days and unused bonus will be cleared after 7days.


Q. Will I be able to share my airtime bonus with my friends?

A. No, your airtime bonus cannot be shared or transferred to another line.


Q. I just made my first call of the day and it lasted 7 minutes. I noticed that my 1st and 5th minutes of the call was charged from the main account instead of my Airtime bonus received from my App recharge. Is this correct?

A. Yes, your first (1st) and fifth (5th) minute call of the day will be charged from your main account, after which subsequent charges will occur from your 10% airtime bonus account and other bonus accounts.


Q. Will I get 10% Airtime bonus on recharge when I receive or send airtime via Share n Sell?

A. No, you will not get the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge when you receive or send airtime via Share n Sell.


Q. What activities can I perform with the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge?

A. You will be able to make local calls, send SMS and browse any website or app with the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge.


Q. How much will I be charged when using the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge?

A. Yes, you will continue to use the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge until it is exhausted. However, subsequent charges will be from your 700% YafunYafun bonus.


Q. How many times can I get the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge?

A. You will receive the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge for every recharge you make via the eligible channels.


Q. If I migrate to another tariff plan with my 10% Airtime bonus on recharge, will I still be able to use it?

A. Yes, you will still be able to use the 10% Airtime bonus on recharge when you migrate to another tariff plan as long as the bonus has not expired.


Q. Will I also get my YafunYafun bonus plus 10% airtime bonus when I make my first recharge in a month via *904# or myMTN NG App?

A. Yes. Once you make your first recharge in a month via *904# and myMTN NG App, you will get the following bonuses:

    • 700% YafunYafun bonus
    • 10% airtime bonus

However, for your subsequent recharges in the same month, will continue to get 700% YafunYafun bonus and 10% airtime bonus.

Example: When you recharge N200 via *904# or myMTN NG App, you will get a total of N1420.

N1,400 will be credited into your airtime and data accounts respectively i.e. N800 into your YafunYafun airtime account and N600 to your YafunYafun data account while N20 will be credited into your 10% airtime bonus account.


Q. If I have an active data bundle and I also have Data Bonus on my line, which data will be used first?

A. The data usage on my line will be first from the bonus data and once it gets to 50%, usage will be switched to the main data and the cycle continues until the bundle volume is exhausted or expired.

Example

Doris has 4GB on her main data and 4GB on her bonus data, her bonus data will be used up to 50% (i.e. 2GB) after which 50% (i.e. 2GB) of the main data will be used. This continues until each account is exhausted.
