What is MTN Hourly bundle?
A. MTN Hourly bundles are affordable time-based data plans that give excellent internet experience and access to all internet services and more value for money.
What are the different MTN Hourly bundle plans available?
A. They are 2GB, 5GB, and 10GB all valid for 1 hour. See the table below for the available data bundles
Who can subscribe to MTN Hourly bundle?
A. All MTN Customers can subscribe to any MTN Hourly bundle.
How do I subscribe to MTN Hourly bundles?
A. You can subscribe to any MTN Hourly bundles via the following channels:
- USSD: Dialling *312*1*1# and selecting your preferred hourly plan or dialing the direct USSD codes in the Summary table for the Hourly bundles below.
- SMS: Sending the bundle plan keyword to 312. (See table below for keywords).
- myMTN NG App: download and log on to the MTN mobile App
- myMTN Web: by logging on to www.mymtn.com.ng
- ChatBot

Can I purchase multiple Hourly bundles?
A. Yes, you will be able to buy any of the Hourly bundles multiple times, however subsequent purchase(s) will be queued, such that if you buy the two bundles, you will have 2 hours and the second hour will start counting immediately the first 1 hour is exhausted.
I received a pop-up menu to choose ‘one-off’, or ‘Buy for a Friend’ when activating an MTN Hourly bundle. What does this mean?
A. The pop-up menu is a feature that allows you to buy the Hourly bundle as a one-off purchase or to ‘Buy for a Friend’ i.e.
- One-off Purchase means that your hourly bundle will not renew automatically after expiry.
- “Buy for a Friend” option allows you to buy an hourly bundle for another line with your airtime.
Note: The Hourly bundles are only available as “One-off bundles”. You can buy multiple bundles at any time to continue using the Hourly bundles.
When does the allocated time start?
A. The timer starts once you successfully buy any of the Hourly bundles.
Can I use my Hourly plan while roaming?
A. No, you will be able to use the Hourly bundle for all data activities in Nigeria ONLY.
How do I check my MTN Hourly bundle balance?
A. You will be able to check your data bundle balance via the following channels:
- SMS: Texting 2 to 323
- USSD: Dialing *312*4# (for main data bundle and bonus), or *310#
- myMTN NG App
- myMTN web
- ChatBot
If I have multiple Hourly bundles active, which bundle will deplete first?
A. If you have multiple Hourly bundles active on your line, the bundle with the closest expiry will be used first.
If I have Hourly bundles and other data plans active on my line, which bundle will deplete first?
A. If you have Hourly bundles and other data plans active on your line, the bundle with the closest expiry will be used first.
Example:
Temidee activated an active 750MB weekly data bundle on the 6th of May and then activated the 5GB hourly bundle on the 7th of May. He will be charged from the Access Hourly bundle first, for the next one hour, and upon exhaustion/expiry, all other internet activities will be charged from the 750MB weekly data bundle.
How do I check my MTN Hourly bundle balance?
A. Customers with active hourly bundles and other social bundles or streaming bundles will be charged from the social/streaming bundle whenever they access the respective platforms.
Examples
Idahosa activated an active Hourly bundle at 10 am and then bought a Youtube hourly bundle at 10.15 am. He will be charged from the Access Hourly bundle when he accesses other internet services within the hour. In the event he accesses Youtube within the hour, he will be charged from his Youtube bundle even if his Access hourly bundle is still active.
What happens if I exhaust my data bundle before the 1-hour elapses?
A. As soon as you exhaust your data bundle before the 1-hour expiry, your internet access will stop, and you will not be able to browse again. To continue browsing, you will need to do one of the following:
- Buy another hourly plan or data plan by dialing *312*1#.
- Borrow data by dialing *303#.
- Opt-in for Pay-As-You-Go browsing by dialing *312*200# to continue browsing with your airtime at N3.07/MB.
Will I be able to roll over my unused main data bundle?
A. Yes, you will be able to roll over your unused data from your Hourly bundle ONLY if you buy another Hourly plan within the stipulated grace period.

Can I share my MTN Hourly bundle?
A. No, you will not be able to share the data bundle on your Hourly plan with your loved ones.
